Building a global network of purpose-driven academics | Talents for Good

Creating the conditions for collaboration, leadership and lasting impact

Smarter Together co-manages the Talents for Good (TfG) Network, an international community of scholars, fellows and institutional partners supported by Porticus. Together with No Name Initiative (NNI), we are helping transform a growing network into a vibrant community of learning, dialogue and action.

The Talents for Good programme invests in current and future leaders inspired by the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, equipping them to address today’s social, environmental and cultural challenges through academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration and service to the common good.

Smarter Together’s role goes beyond network management. We design and steward the collaborative ecosystem that enables members to connect across disciplines, co-create a shared purpose and transform individual talent into collective impact. By combining strategic thinking, facilitation, communications and community building, we help create the conditions for meaningful collaboration and long-term societal change.

Our contribution

As co-manager of the network, Smarter Together works at the intersection of strategy, collaboration and community building to strengthen engagement and empower members to shape the network’s future together.

Our work includes:

  • Designing and coordinating the network’s long-term development strategy.
  • Building and nurturing an active international community of fellows, alumni and partner organisations.
  • Facilitating dialogue and co-creation processes to define the network’s shared purpose, vision and desired impact.
  • Designing engagement activities that foster collaboration, mentorship, peer learning and interdisciplinary exchange.
  • Managing communications and the network’s digital collaboration platform.
  • Organising online and in-person events that strengthen relationships, stimulate new ideas and catalyse partnerships.
  • Creating the governance and engagement structures that enable the network to evolve into a self-sustaining community of practice.

Impact

Since assuming the network’s co-management in late 2025, Smarter Together and NNI have laid the foundations for a renewed and growing international community.

Key milestones include:

  • Launching an online collaboration platform connecting nearly 60 members from diverse academic disciplines, institutions and countries.
  • Establishing a regular programme of online gatherings, thematic discussions and community sessions since January 2026.
  • Designing and coordinating the network’s first in-person gathering in July 2026, where members will collectively define the network’s shared purpose, long-term vision and desired societal impact.
  • Building the foundations for a collaborative ecosystem that will continue to generate knowledge exchange, partnerships and leadership well beyond individual fellowship programmes.
